NC forms committee to hold parliamentary party election

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has formed a three-member committee to hold its parliamentary party election.

The central working committee meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on Sunday formed the committee under the leadership of Joint General Secretary Bhishma Raj Angdembe. Pushpa Bhusal and Prakash Rasaili are the other members of the committee.

According to party spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, the meeting also decided to hold talks with other political parties for government formation.

Mahat also said that the election could be held by Tuesday.

“We became the largest party in the local body polls. We are the largest party in the House of Representatives. Therefore, our claim to the PM’s post is justifiable,” added Mahat.

The meeting also decided to direct the province committees of the party to make needful preparations to elect parliamentary party leaders in province assemblies as per the party statute.

According to Mahat, the meeting also decided to make all possible efforts to form government in all provinces under NC’s leadership.
