SURKHET: Nepali Congress (NC) has exited the Karnali Province Government.
Speaking at a press conference in Surkhet on Tuesday, NC’s ministers in the Karnali cabinet said they decided to exit the government after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal broke the alliance with NC and formed a new alliance at the center.
“We didn’t feel it appropriate to continue in the coalition government after what happened at the center. We have decided to step down as per the direction of our parliamentary party,” Bedraj Singh, who was serving as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning in the Karnali Province Government, said.
NC has also withdrawn its support extended to Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma.
Along with Singh, NC had two other ministers in the Karnali cabinet. Krishna Bahadur BC was serving as Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment, while Khadka Bahadur Pokharel was the Minister for Social Development.
The three ministers submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Sharma after addressing the press conference.
