NC decides to allow President to present policies and programs

KATHMANDU: The main opposition, Nepali Congress (NC), has decided to allow the President to present the government’s policies and programs.

A meeting of NC’s parliamentary party held on Tuesday decided not to obstruct the President from presenting the government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/25.

The party, however, has decided not to enter into any other agenda brought by the government.

President Ram Chandra Poudel is scheduled to present the policies and programs of the government in a joint session of the House of Representatives and National Assembly at 3 pm on Tuesday.

Earlier, NC had threatened to obstruct all House proceedings until a parliamentary inquiry panel was formed to form cooperative fraud allegations against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane.
