NC CWC meeting postponed yet again Nepali Congress Central Party Office

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting has once again been postponed.

The meeting, which had been scheduled for 2 pm on Thursday, will now convene at 2 pm on Friday, according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, the Chief Secretary of the NC’s Congress Party Office.

The CWC, which has been stalled due to disputes over the party’s general convention, has been postponed repeatedly. The CWC meeting on Thursday was expected to decide the date for the general convention.

NC leaders say the meeting was postponed due to a lack of consensus on the timing of the convention.

General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, as well as leaders of the anti-establishment faction of the party, are for holding the convention before the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

Leaders of the establishment faction, however, say that the convention should be held after the elections only.
