NC Central Working Committee meeting postponed yet again

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has postponed its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting yet again.

The meeting, which has already been rescheduled three times since last Thursday through official notices, has been deferred yet again.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, Krishna Prasad Paudel, chief secretary of the party’s central office, said the meeting has been rescheduled for 1 pm on Saturday.

“The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee scheduled for Thursday has been postponed. The meeting will now be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at the party’s central office in Lalitpur. All office bearers, committee members, invited members, and presidents of all seven provincial committees are requested to be present as per the instructions,” the notice issued by Paudel stated.

NC leaders are divided over the date of the upcoming general convention. While leaders close to the establishment faction are keen on holding the general convention after the House of Representatives (HoR) elections, others have been insisting on holding the convention by mid-December as per the party statute.
