Naya Shakti nominates leaders to different party positions

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Samajbadi Party (Naya Shakti) has nominated nine leaders to the party’s Central Committee.

A meeting of the party’s Central Committee held in Kathmandu on Sunday nominated Sirjana Rijal, Saraswati Pandey, Krishna Sharma, Raju Nepali, Dhan B. Gurung, Ek Bahadur Rana, Jekendra Shrestha, GS Gurung and Chinak Kurmi to the position.

The meeting also appointed chiefs of six departments of the party. Chairperson Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has been appointed as the head of the Training Department, General Secretary Sonam Singh Syangtan as the head of the Organization Department, Vice-Chairperson Manushi Yami Bhattarai as the head of the International Department, Krishna Sharma as the Spokesperson and head of the Publicity Department, GS Gurung as the head of the Social Campaign and Public Mobilization Department, and Hari Rijal as the head of the Financial Management Department.

The party has also named in-charges for its provincial committees. According to the party, Bharat Dahal has been named as in-charge of Koshi, Umesh Sah as in-charge of Madhesh, and Asha Kumari Tamang as in-charge of Bagmati. Likewise, Fanindra Devkota, Hari Rijal, Tekam Batha Magar, Durga Sob, Manushi Yami Bhattarai, and Laxman Karki have been appointed as in-charges of the Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, Diaspora, and Diaspora India committees, respectively.

Additionally, Bhakta Bahadur Shah and Hisila Yami have been named as chairpersons of the Advisory Council and Expert Council, respectively, while Moti Rijal, Ram Kumar Puri, Dr. Janak Shah, and Bishnu Hari Sharma have been appointed as heads of the Disciplinary Commission, Election Commission, Accounts Commission, and Appeals Committee, respectively.

Similarly, party chair Dr Bhattarai has been named as the chairperson of the party’s Federal Council which oversees the party’s statute-related works.

Under the party’s affiliated organizations, Sirjana Rijal has been appointed for Women, Amritkumar Puri for Farmers, Tej Lal Karn for Laborers, Jekendra Shrestha for Youth, Rup Narayan Shrestha for Students, DB Limbu for Indigenous Nationalities, Gajadhar Sunar for Dalits, and Chhanda Panthi for Industry and Business.

Arjun Thapaliya has been appointed as the head of the Party Central Office.
