National Assembly members to be sworn in on March 4

KATHMANDU: The newly-elected National Assembly members will be sworn in on March 4. Similarly, the election for the next National Assembly chairperson will be held on March 12.

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the National Assembly held on Friday prepared a provisional list of agendas for the winter session of Parliament which is beginning on Monday. The meeting has proposed to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new members on March 4 and elect the chairman on March 12.

The term of 20 National Assembly members, including Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, is ending on March 4. Nineteen members to fill the vacant seats have already been elected. The remaining one member will be appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
