KATHMANDU: The government has decided to hold the election to fill a vacant seat in the National Assembly on February 8.
The cabinet meeting held on Thursday took the decision to this extent.
One seat in the upper house representing Lumbini Province is lying vacant. Members of the Lumbini Province Assembly and chairperson/mayor and vice-chairperson/deputy mayor of local units in the province can vote in the election.
Few days ago, the Election Commission had recommended to the government to hold the by-polls on February 8.
