NADA Auto Show kicks off in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show 2025 kicked off in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the country’s long-running automobile expo amid a ceremony at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Oli said there was no reason for automobile entrepreneurs to remain dissatisfied at present. “Automobile entrepreneurs have no reason at the moment. We kept the import rates unchanged in the budget. Both the budget and monetary policy have been designed to benefit the industry,” Oli said.

Also speaking on the occasion, NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal Chairperson Karan Chaudhary urged the government to increase the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio in vehicle financing. He urged the government to address the issue through the upcoming review of the monetary policy.

Stating that the automobile industry directly employs nearly one million people, he said the government must bring measures to restore business confidence in the sector. “The NADA Auto Show is not only a platform for showcasing vehicles but also a hub for trade, networking and business opportunities,” he added.

The six-day Auto Show has brought together leading global and domestic brands, offering visitors a chance to explore new models, technologies and industry trends.

The event features 19 four-wheeler brands, 14 light commercial vehicle brands, four two-wheeler brands, and 35 automotive component and service companies, covering lubricants, tires, batteries, garage equipment and financial services.

Electric cars like BYD Atto 2, NAMMI Vigo, Geely EX5, XPENG X9 were launched on the opening day of the Auto Show.
