KATHMANDU: The local administration of Chitwan has decided to shut the Mugling-Narayanghat road section for four hours every day for bridge construction.
A meeting of stakeholders held at the District Administration Office on Tuesday decided to stop vehicular movement on the road section for a month from 11 am till 3 pm starting December 20.
The restriction on vehicular movement will facilitate earthen works at bridge construction sites in Simlaltal, Kalikhola, Tuin Khola and Chisenji Khola.
The meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Asman Tamang decided to stop passengers vehicles heading toward Kathmandu and Pokhara at Jugedi and those heading toward Narayanghat from Kathmandu at Mugling and from Pokhara at Benitar.
Similarly, cargo vehicles heading toward Kathmandu and Pokhara from Narayanghat will be stopped at Ramnagar, while those heading toward Narayanghat from Kathmandu and Pokhara will be stopped at Lebatar and Abukhaireni, respectively.
Emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire engines, however, will not be stopped, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.
