KATHMANDU: Nepali students planning postgraduate studies in the United States and Canada can now access international education loans of up to $100,000 (around Rs 13 million) without the need for collateral or a foreign cosigner.
MPOWER Financing, a global education loan provider, has announced the expansion of its loan services to Nepal. The company said the initiative will make higher education abroad more accessible for qualified students who lack property or guarantors to secure traditional bank loans.
Under the scheme, students can apply for loans ranging from $2,001 to $100,000 to cover tuition fees and living expenses at more than 500 universities across the US and Canada. “The process is completely digital, with fixed interest rates and a transparent repayment plan that allows families to plan ahead with certainty,” MPOWER said in a statement.
The firm has already provided financial assistance to over 20,000 students from countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, and several African nations.
In addition to loans, MPOWER offers scholarships, visa guidance, and career development support through its Path2Success program, which helps students with proof of funds and post-study job preparation.
