KATHMANDU: Movie theaters across the country, which have been closed due to the political situation in the country following the Gen Z movement, will reopen on Monday.
Narendra Maharjan, president of the Nepal Motion Pictures Association, said a meeting of the association held on Sunday took the decision.
Theaters across the country have remained closed since September 9, when the Gen Z movement escalated, resulting in widespread arson and vandalism.
Producers of films like Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 and Jaari 2, which were scheduled to release on September 2, have postponed their release.
Koshedhunga, Rimai, Gunyu Cholo, Janai Harayeko Manchhe, Magne Raja, and Mohor were screening when cinema halls across the country shut down on Tuesday due to the protests.
