KATHMANDU: Five members of the House of Representatives have registered a motion of urgent public importance to discuss the ongoing protest by school teachers and the School Education Bill.
They submitted the motion on Monday, calling for a discussion on implementing past agreements between the government and the Confederation of Nepali Teachers (CNT), improving the quality of schools, ensuring education for millions of students, and conducting examinations on schedule.
Hitraj Pandey of the CPN (Maoist Centre) was the proposer of the motion, while Santosh Pariyar of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Sher Bahadur Kunwar of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Prabhu Sah of the Aam Janata Party, and Chitra Bahadur KC of the Rastriya Janamorcha were the seconders.
