KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in various parts of the country for the next three days.
Issuing a statement, the division said that the monsoon trough is currently near its average position, affecting the entire country.
Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal told news agency RSS that light to heavy rainfall is expected in the Kathmandu Valley and other areas over the next three days. “While the monsoon isn’t extremely active at the moment, reducing the likelihood of very heavy rainfall, caution should still be exercised regarding monsoon-related hazards such as floods and landslides,” he advised.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces, according to the division.
