‘Mitrata’ photo expo showcases Nepal-EU friendship

KATHMANDU: ‘Mitrata’, an exhibition of photographs by four Nepali photographers, is underway at the Nepal Art Council Gallery in Babarmahal, Kathmandu.

The four photographers – Sushila Bishwakarma, Aakriti Shrestha, Ishan Tiwari and Rabik Upadhyay – were selected through a competition organized by the European Union Delegation to Nepal to commemorate 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Nepal, the EU Delegation in Nepal said in a statement.

Veronique Lorenzo, European Union Ambassador to Nepal, inaugurated the exhibition on Friday. In her inaugural speech, she said the work of these young photographers portrays the strong bonds between the European Union and Nepal.

These photographers tell the stories of people benefiting from different projects that the European Union is implementing together with Nepal and other stakeholders.

The exhibition will continue till August 16.
