KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Bhagawati Neupane, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Neuapne amid a ceremony organized at the Office of the President on Wednesday.
President Paudel appointed Neupane, who is a member of the National Assembly, to the position on Tuesday on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. She is also a Standing Committee member of CPN-UML.
Neupane replaces Raj Kumar Gupta, who stepped down on Tuesday morning after he was linked to a bribery deal.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, heads of security agencies and constitutional bodies, Chief Secretary, and leaders of various political parties were present on the occasion.
