KATHMANDU: Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has apologized to lawmakers for the imbalanced budget.
Participating in a discussion on budget allocation of his ministry in the House of Representatives on Monday, Kirati acknowledged the the budget is not balanced. He further explained that many programs proposed by the lawmakers could not be accommodated in the budget due to the limited budget ceiling provided to the ministry. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused as numerous programs couldn’t be included in the budget,” Kiranti stated. “Considering the budget constraints, we focused on including programs with smaller budgets.”
The minister emphasized that the budget was designed to enhance tourism infrastructure by prioritizing significant cultural, religious, and tourism sites in each province while ensuring regional balance.
Additionally, Minister Kirati clarified that he had not exerted any pressure on the management of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) regarding staff recruitment.
