Min Bahadur Shrestha appointed NPC Vice Chairperson

KATHMANDU: Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha has been appointed as the vice chairperson of the National Planning Commission (NPC) – the apex policymaking body of the government.

The cabinet meeting held on January 18 had appointed Shrestha to the post. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shrestha on Monday.

Shrestha had served as the vice chairperson of the NPC earlier also. He was appointed by Dahal during his second term as the prime minister in 2016. Shrestha is also a former executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) – the central monetary authority.

The veteran bureaucrat served in the NRB for 26 years.
