KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has requested people to remain on high alert stating that water levels in the rivers of Kathmandu Valley have crossed the warning threshold.
The department has sent alerts on mobile phones advising people to be cautious as current water levels at Gaurighat, Khokana and Manohara monitoring stations on the Bagmati River in Kathmandu Valley have surpassed the warning level and continue to rise.
As river water may reach roadsides and settlements, those traveling or residing in riverside areas are advised to exercise extreme caution until 5 PM this evening, the department has stated in its message.
