KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that his party will emerge as the largest force in the next elections.
Speaking at a gathering of party leaders and cadres in Bhoteodar of Lamjung on Sunday, as part of the party’s Mid-Hill Highway Campaign, Dahal admitted that the Maoist Center has not been able to effectively communicate its achievements to the people.
“We worked for the benefit of the country and its citizens when we were in the government. This is why people still have hope, trust and support for us,” Dahal said, adding that even though the Maoist Center is currently outside the government, it continues to work with a people-centric approach.
Dahal also dismissed claims from rival parties that the Maoist Center has been pushed into irrelevance. “On the contrary, the party’s positive contributions have earned it continued public backing,” he added.
