Maoist Center to repeat three ministers; Pun to become finance minister

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to repeat most of its ministers in the new government.

According to a Maoist Center source, the party has decided to repeat Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma in the new government.

Shrestha, who was looking after the defense portfolio, will now be the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Likewise, the Maoist Center has decided to appoint its Deputy General Secretary Barsha Man Pun as the Minister for Finance, while Hit Bahadur Tamang, who has already been sworn in, will be given the culture, tourism and civil aviation portfolio.
