KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) has announced a six-month ‘awareness campaign’.
A Standing Committee meeting of the party held on Thursday decided to organize separate campaigns along the Madan Bhandari Highway and the Postal Highway, according to party Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota.
“The party chairperson has stated that two campaigns are necessary to save the country from a serious crisis,” Sapkota told journalists after the meeting. “One will be centred on the Madan Bhandari Highway, and the other on the Postal Highway. Over six months, we will engage with the people to understand their needs and aspirations.”
Sapkota further explained that the meeting concluded the party must adopt a forward-looking strategy to ensure that people are well-informed and included in party efforts.
“Chairperson Dahal has emphasized the need to engage with the public yet again to drive the party’s transformation process,” Sapkota said.
The meeting also expressed concerns that the coalition government of the two largest parties in parliament risks leading the country into a serious crisis.
