KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have opposed the government’s decision to sack Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising.
They objected to the government’s decision by issuing separate statements on Tuesday.
Maoist Center Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota described the government’s decision as an example of misgovernance. “The decision, made to serve the interests of middlemen and brokers, is the latest instance of misgovernance,” the statement reads. “This decision has been taken with the intent to psychologically intimidate all competent administrators who work with integrity and dedication.”
The Maoist Center has also demanded the immediate reversal of the decision.
Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has opposed the removal of Ghising, describing the dismissal as part of the government’s malicious intent and protection of middlemen.
In a statement issued by RSP Officiating General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, RSP has labeled the government’s move as anti-people and an insult to civil servants.
