Maoist Center joining Madhesh Province govt

JANAKPURDHARM: CPN (Maoist Center) has finally decided to join the Madhesh Province Government.

The party had refused to send its ministers when Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav expanded his cabinet on Friday, expressing dissatisfaction over the allocation of ministerial portfolios. Maoist Center had been demanding two ministries for the party.

However, the party has now decided to join the government after party president Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal himself took the initiative to resolve the issue. Maoist Center has decided to send Sunita Yadav as Minister for Industry, Tourism and Forests, and Rahabar Ansari as Minister of State for Industry, Tourism and Forests.

The party’s parliamentary party leader Bharat Sah was lobbying hard with the party leadership to join Yadav’s cabinet as a minister. However, Dahal decided in favor of Sunita Yadav who is the daughter of late Rambriksha Yadav – one of the founding members of the party.

The two will be sworn in on Tuesday, according to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Madhesh Province.
