KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson on Sunday said his party came among the people of Madhesh to seek a cure for the disease that spread within the party due to cooperation with old parties.
Speaking at a gathering organized in Hansapur on Dhanusha as part of the “Terai Madhesh Awakening Campaign”, Dahal acknowledged that failing to uphold the trust of millions of people who believed in the Maoist ideology was a significant weakness of Maoist Center and its leadership. “We are now in a mission to address our internal weaknesses and reconnect with the people as per the direction of our Central Committee meeting,” Dahal said the campaign was launched to carry the party’s message to the masses.
Dahal also claimed that the Hulaki Rajmarga-centered campaign will help reshape the future of southern Nepal. He recalled that during his tenure as Prime Minister in 2016, he visited India and held discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advance the Hulaki Rajmarga project which had been neglected for a long time.
Reiterating the firm belief that the liberation of the country is impossible without the liberation of Madhesh, Dahal reminded everyone that the party had first formed the Madhesh Liberation Front to initiate the People’s War. He expressed the Maoist Center’s commitment to fulfilling the dreams of all the martyrs, including the 1,300 Madheshi martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Madhesh and class emancipation.
