KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal has announced that the party would hold its general convention after a year.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the party’s three-day Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Dahal said the party would organize organization organization-strengthening campaign for the next six months. “After another six months for preparation, the party will organize its general convention,” he added.
Dahal also said the party would hold its Central Committee meeting in June following the conclusion of the six-month campaign. “Since the party will collect suggestions from people during this six-month campaign, it will be like a preparation for the general convention,” Dahal said.
The former Prime Minister also said the campaign would begin after celebrating People’s War Day, on February 13, along Hulaki Highway and Mid-Hills Highway.
The central committee also endorsed a work plan proposal to assign responsibility to all leaders. “The party will soon send a circular to all leaders so that party leaders reach every local unit and ward,” Dahal said.
The meeting approved Dahal’s political report with some revisions. According to a Maoist Center leader, 118 leaders presented their suggestions in the report.
