KATHMANDU: Manang district has welcomed nearly 21,000 foreign tourists over the past 11 months. This is the highest tourist footfall that the district has received since the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the district recorded 20,806 tourists between January and November. October registered the highest monthly arrivals with 5,198 tourists.
Breaking down the statistics for foreign visitors from January to November, the French comprised the largest group, followed by Israelis, Germans, British, Americans, and Russians, according to the office. Manang also received a significant number of tourists from Austria, the Netherlands, and India.
Comparatively, the tourist count in 2022 stood at 15,903.
