‘Manang Air chopper crashed at Lamjure Pass’

KATHMANDU: An Airbus AS350 B3 helicopter of Manang Air, that went missing since 10:05 am on Tuesday, crashed at Lamjure Pass (3560m) in Solukhumbu district, a local government official said.

Mina Karki Basnet, chairperson of Likhu Pikey Rural Municipality, said the helicopter crashed at Lamjure Pass in Likhu Pikey-5. “A team of police and rural municipality officials has left for Lamjure Pass for search and rescue works,” she said.

Five foreign tourists and one Nepali pilot are on board the helicopter, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

CAAN has also deployed a helicopter of Altitude Air to Lamjure area for search and rescue works.
