KATHMANDU: Rajesh Magar and Nishma Shrestha have emerged as the winners in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, at the inaugural Enduro Ratnange Mountain Race held in Solukhumbu district on May 7.
The event aimed not only to promote mountain races but also to boost tourism in the high-altitude regions. With 26 riders from various categories, including two international participants, the competition exceeded all expectations, according to the Phaplu Mountain Bike Club, the organizer of the event.
The master’s category witnessed fierce competition, with Dinesh Maharjan, Manoj Shrestha, and Binesh Tuladhar showcasing their skills and determination to claim top honors. Similarly, Chhiring Pasang Sherpa and Durvesh Bikram Shah excelled in the junior category.
Winners Magar and Shrestha each received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 for their outstanding performances. The first and second runners-up were awarded Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
Likewise, participants in the Junior category received gift hampers from Columbia and KTM City.
