KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has administered the oath of office and secrecy to Surendra Labh Karna, the newly appointed Chief of Madhesh Province.
Paudel swore in Labh amid a ceremony at the Office of the President on Tuesday.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to dismiss Sumitra Subedi Bhandari and recommend Labh for the position following a dispute over the appointment of the Madhesh Province Chief Minister.
Bhandari drew widespread criticism for administering the oath of office to the new Madhesh Chief Minister at a hotel in Bardibas in the wee hours on Monday.
