Madhesh Chief Minister told to furnish clarification by his own party

KATHMANDU: Janamat Party has sought an explanation from Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh. The decision comes amid allegations that Singh had deviated from the party’s official line.

Janamat Party spokesperson Sharat Singh Yadav confirmed that the party had sought clarification from Chief Minister Singh. “We felt that he was not adhering to the party’s guidelines. That is why we sought an explanation from him,” Yadav told Himal Press over the phone.

According to Yadav, the party has sought an explanation from Singh for disregarding party directives, making controversial statements during budget preparations, and repeatedly damaging the party’s image.

Yadav also said that Singh allocated ministries without coordinating with the party and recently inducted state ministers to his cabinet.

Singh has been facing heavy criticism after the addition of state ministers which increased the size of his cabinet to 20 members.

Spokesperson Yadav said that the party had directed Singh to focus on improving service delivery. “But he has been spending time on inauguration ceremonies instead,” he added.
