JANAKPUR: Madhesh Prime Minister Satish Kumar Singh has decided to undergo a floor test on July 5.
Janamat Party’s Singh was appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on June 7.
As per Article 168 (4) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, he is required to get a vote of confidence of the province assembly within 30 days. This means Singh is required to pass the floor test by July 6.
Singh formed the government with the support of CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Nepal Samjabdi Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party after Saroj Kumar Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal failed to secure a vote of confidence in the province assembly.
Singh has the support of 55 members in the 107-member province assembly.
