Madhesh Chief Minister inducts five ministers to his cabinet

JANAKPURDHAM: Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has inducted five new ministers in his cabinet.

Four ministers are from the Nepali Congress (NC) and one from the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP).

Province Chief Sumitra Subedi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers amid a ceremony on Thursday evening.

Chief Minister Singh has appointed Sunil Kumar Yadav from Rautahat as Minister for Finance, Janardan Kshetri from Parsa as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative, Shesh Narayan Yadav from Dhanusha as Minister for Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply and Kaushal Kishor Ray from Sarlahi as Minister for Labor and Transport.

All these four ministers are from the Nepali Congress.

Likewise, Rani Sharma Tiwari of LSP, who was elected to the province assembly from Mahottari – 3(B), has been appointed as Minister for Education and Culture.

Raj Kumar Lekhi, who was previously handling the education and culture portfolio, has been given new responsibility as the Minister for Home Affairs, Communication and Law.

With this expansion, the Madhesh cabinet now has 12 ministers and three ministers of state.
