LUMBINI: Lumbini Province Government has decided to cut the services and facilities it has been providing to former officials of the province government.
The cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to withdraw the services and facilities provided to former chief ministers and spakers provided by the government led by Kul Bahadur KC through a cabinet decision on December 16, 2022.
Province Government Spokesperson and Minister for Agriculture and Land Management, Dinesh Panthi, informed that the decision was taken to adopt austerity measures during a time of economic crisis.
Former dignitaries had been receiving facilities such as vehicles, fuel, maintenance, drivers, and personal security officers (PSO).
Similarly, the province government has decided to implement a code of conduct for its ministers. The meeting also decided to pass the Organization and Management (O&M) survey for government employees.
According to Minister Panthi, the cabinet meeting also decided to one tourism office each in 12 districts of the province. “The responsibility of opening and operating tourism offices has been given to Cottage and Small Industries Offices,” he added.
So far, the province government has tourism offices in Nepalgunj of Banke and Bhairahawa of Rupandehi only.
