Lumbini Chief Minister Chaudhary gets vote of confidence

LUMBINI:  Chief Minister of Lumibini Province, Dilli Ram Chaudhary, has got a vote of confidence in the province assembly.

He received 53 votes, while 29 province assembly members voted against him and four abstained.

According to Speaker Tula Ram Gharti, 27 assembly members of Nepali Congress (NC), nine of CPN (Maoist Center), four of Nagarik Unmukti Party, three each of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Janamat Party, and one each of CPN (Unified Socialist) and Rastriya Janamoracha and one independent assembly member voted for Chaudhary.

Similarly, 29 assembly members of CPN-UML and four of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) voted against Chaudhary.

Chaudhary was sworn in as the Chief Minister on April 28 with three ministers – Dhan Bahadur Majhi of Maoist Center, Santosh Kumar Pandey of LSP and Dharma Bahadur Chaudhary of Janamat Party. The ministers haven’t been assigned ministerial portfolios yet.
