LUMBINI: Lumbini Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has expanded his cabinet by appointing three new ministers.
Janmajaya Timilsina has been named Minister for Social Development, Devkaran Kalwar as Minister for Forest and Environment, and Adesh Kumar Agrawal as Minister for Internal Affairs and Law. Timilsina and Kalwar represent the Nepali Congress (NC), while Agrawal is from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
However, Acharya’s cabinet is still incomplete. He is still to appoint one more minister from either from the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party or the Nagarik Unmukti Party. A dispute between the two parties over who will join the government first has delayed the appointment.
The three new ministers will be sworn in on Thursday morning.
Acharya’s cabinet currently consists of five members each from the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress and one from the JSP.
