Lumbini approves directive for operation of provincial project bank

LUMBINI: The Lumbini Provincial Government has begun preparations to bring a Provincial Project Bank into operation.

A meeting of the provincial cabinet held on Wednesday approved the Provincial Project Bank (Operation and Management) Directive, 2026, paving the legal way for the project bank.

According to Provincial Health Minister Khem Bahadur Saru, the directive aims to streamline the selection, management, and implementation of priority projects in the province.

The Cabinet also decided to assign postings to recently promoted employees and to reshuffle responsibilities among provincial secretaries.

As per the decision, Binod Lamichhane has been given additional responsibility as secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Narad Gautam at the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, and Diwakar Bhandari at the Ministry of Social Development.

Roshan Lal Chaudhary has been posted as Chief Public Health Administrator at the Provincial Health Directorate, while Rajendra Kumar Giri has been assigned to the Provincial Supply Management Center in Rupandehi in the same capacity.

Similarly, Mohammad Nurul Hoda has been posted to Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur, Padam Raj Adhikari to Gulmi District Hospital, and Shakuntala Kumari has been appointed as Chief Consultant Medical Generalist at Rampur Hospital.

The Cabinet also appointed Anup Thapa as Chief Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Bhuwan Poudel as Chief Consultant Surgeon, Surendra Kunwar as Chief Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Pushparaj Joshi as Chief Consultant General Physician, Krishna Hari Subedi as Chief Consultant Paediatrician, and Prabhat Pokhrel as Chief Consultant Dermatologist at Lumbini Provincial Hospital. Likewise, Gopal Prasad Gyawali has been assigned as Chief Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the same hospital.

Likewise, Anil Marasini has been posted as Superintendent Engineer at the Transport Infrastructure Directorate, while Ishwari Prasad Poudel has been appointed as Director General at the Directorate of Forests.
