KATHMANDU: The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has formed a high-level dialogue team to accelerate talks on unity and cooperation among Madhes-based parties.
The team includes Senior Co-Chairperson Sarvendranath Shukla and Senior Vice-Chairperson Laxmanlal Karna.
LSP Chairman Mahantha Thakur announced the formation of the committee through a press release, scrapping the five-member team formed previously. The previous team was led by Senior Vice-Chairperson and Madhesh Province Chairperson Jitendra Prasad Sonar. Senior Vice-chairperson Umakanta Jha, Vice-chairperson Ram Prakash Chaudhary, and General Secretaries Surendra Kumar Jha and Manish Kumar Mishra were in the team.
Madhesh-centric teams have expedited talks after Janata Pragratisheel Party (JPP) Chairperson Hridayesh Tripathi called on all Madhes-centric parties to form working alliances and forge cooperation. Responding to the appeal, several parties have formed their respective talk teams.
The JPP dialogue team has already held separate and joint discussions with other Madhes-based parties. Similarly, the Upendra Yadav-led Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSP-N), has formed a team headed by Raj Kishor Yadav to pursue cooperation and unity.
Other Madhesh-centric parties, including CK Raut’s Janamat Party, Resham Chaudhary’s Nagarik Unmukti Party, Rajendra Mahato’s Rastriya Mukti Party, and Ashok Rai’s Janata Samajbadi Party, have also constituted their talk teams.
