KATHMANDU: Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has decided to support the new alliance of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML.
A meeting of the party’s office-bearers held in Kathmandu on Wednesday decided to support the new colation, according to LSP leader Sarbendra Nath Shukla.
According to Shukla, LSP Chairperson Mahantha Thakur briefed the meeting about the recent political developments and his meeting with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
While the LSP has decided to support the new alliance, it has not taken any decision about joining the new government.
“The two parties of the new alliance have not held formal discussions with us about joining the government,” Shukla said. “Since the amendment to the constitution is one of the agendas that they have raised, we have decided to support the alliance.”
