Leaders see no alternative to Oli for UML’s future leadership: Gautam

KATHMANDU: A report presented at the ongoing 2nd Statute Convention of the CPN-UML stated that there is no alternative to party chairperson KP Sharma Oli in the party’s future leadership, according to UML’s Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam.

According to Gautam, leaders participating in group discussions during the ongoing 2nd Statute Convention said Oli remains the only option for the party’s top leadership.

Gautam also claimed that some media outlets had circulated misinformation regarding the discussions. “Leaders from seven provincial groups and three non-geographical groups have already submitted reports of issues raised in their respective discussions. All 10 groups have suggested including a provision in the statute barring individuals who have already served as president, vice-president, or received constitutional appointments from rejoining the party,” Gautam said.

He informed that Sudurpaschim Province Committee Chairperson Krishna Prasad Jaishi, Karnali chair Gulab Jung Shah, Lumbini chair Radha Krishna Kandel, Gandaki vice-chair Min Prasad Gurung, Bagmati chair Kailash Dhungel, Madhes chair Chandreshwar Mandal, Koshi chair Ghanshyam Khatiwada, and non-geographical representatives Shiva Adhikari, Chudamani Jangali, and Bhakta Gurung presented the report of their respective groups in the closed session.
