KATHMANDU: Leaders of three major political parties are holding a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
Sources in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat said that the leaders are discussing a wide range of issues, including the transitional justice bill pending in parliament.
Along with Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CN0UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, NC leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Radheshyam Adhikari, former Attorney Generals Ramesh Badal and Agni Kharel, UML’s Deputy General Secretary PRadeep Gyawali, Chief WHip Mahesh Bartaula, and Maoist Center’s Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma, among others are present in the meeting.
The bill to amend the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, which was registered in Parliament in March last year, is not advancing due to a lack of consensus among major parties.
