MYAGDI: The Beni-Jomsom road, which connects the northern region of Myagdi to Mustang, has been blocked since Monday evening.
Landslides in Baishri of Raghuganga Rural Municipality and Mahabhir of Annapurna Rural Municipality have obstructed the road, according to the District Traffic Police Office, Myagdi
Rajkumar KC, chief of the office, informed that vehicular movement has been affected due to landslides triggered by continuous rainfall since Monday afternoon. He appealed to travelers not to venture out on the Beni-Jomsom road at night as the rainfall has not stopped and landslides are ongoing.
The office has said that works to clear landslide debris and resume vehicular movement will begin on Tuesday morning in coordination with the Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project Office to clear the landslide debris and resume operations by Tuesday morning.
Vehicles bound for Mustang have turned back to Beni, while those coming from Mustang have reversed towards Bhurung-Tatopani, according to the office.
