KATHMANDU: Vehicular movement along the Muglin–Narayanghat road came to a halt on Friday evening after a landslide blocked the section near Tuin Khola in Chitwan.
According to the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, workers and machines have been mobilized to clear the debris. However, traffic police personnel say there remains a high risk of further landslides in the area.
Citing landslide risks, police have requested passengers and drivers to avoid travelling through the Tuin Khola stretch at night, according to the RSS news agency.
The Mugling-Narayanghat Road, which links the Prithvi Highway and East-West Highway, is a vital corridor for people traveling to Kathmandu from different parts of the country.
