KATHANDU: The ‘Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2025’ was presented in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
Balaram Adhikari, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, presented the Bill, stating that it was introduced in the parliament to make it relevant to current needs.
“Discrepancies or omissions have been seen in land registration during land surveys conducted between 1964 and 1971. Since settlements have already developed in those areas, it will be impossible to remove people living there,” Dahal said. “People living there are not paying land revenue. So, the Bill includes necessary provisions to address these issues.”
Earlier, the meeting rejected the objection to the Bill submitted by lawmaker Prem Suwal by a majority vote.
