ITAHARI: Koshi Hospital has suspended a doctor and two health assistants who were involved in the premature declaration of a 19-day-old baby girl dead.
The hospital administration took the action after the baby’s relatives alleged that the doctor and his team declared the baby dead on Wednesday morning even though she was still alive.
The hospital administration has also formed an investigation committee. The committee is headed by a pediatric expert, Dr Prabin Jha, and comprises of two other members, Dr Suryakant Chaudhary and administrative staff Ram Prasad Nepal.
The committee has been given seven days to submit its report.
The baby’s relatives reported that when they were taking her for last rites, she started breathing. They then admitted her to Golden Hospital where she is currently receiving treatment in the NICU ward.
