KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Office of Municipal Executive is shifting its offices to Kathmandu Plaza, Kamaladi.
KMC had set up its offices at JDA Complex, Sundhara and City Hall, Exhibition Road, after the 2015 earthquakes damaged its building at Bagdurbar. It is now bringing all offices under one roof to make service delivery more effective, according to Deepak Adhikari, joint spokesperson for the KMC.
KMC has rented Kathmandu Plaza on a 10-year lease from the Office of Nepal Trust.
According to KMC, the basement of the seven-storied Kathmandu Plaza can park 200 two-wheelers and 70 four-wheelers at a time. The ground floor of KMC will have offices of city police, emergency services center, crisis management department, health service center, and civil registry as well as bank counter.
Likewise, the first floor will have revenue department, urban management department, social development department, statistical department, environment management department, meeting hall, and offices of thematic committees. Likewise, the second floor will have the deputy mayor’s office, health department, cooperatives department, agriculture and livestock department, education department, law, and human rights department, and the office of traffic management officer.
Similarly, the third floor will have offices of finance department, internal auditing unit, procurement unit, monitoring and evaluation unit and administration department, and chief administrative officer’s secretariat. The floor fourth will house the mayor’s office as well as the offices of the urban planning commission, the public construction department, the heritage and tourism department, public-private partnership unit, IT department, international relations secretariat.
Likewise, the fifth floor will have the office of park and greenery promotion project, canteen, refreshment center, meeting hall, and call center, among others.
