KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives, Ramhari Khatiwada, has clarified that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has not interfered in the proposed amendment to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Act, 1991.
Khatiwada insisted that the committee operates independently and dismissed claims of the Prime Minister’s influence as baseless propaganda. “I have no information who is spreading such misinformation,” he said.
A subcommittee under the committee had recommended amendments to enable the CIAA to investigate decisions made by the Council of Ministers, except those related to policy matters.
