POKHARA: A new landing site has been designated for paragliders in Pokhara.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CIAA) and the Nepal Air Sports Association (NASA) have decided that paragliders will now take off from Sarangkot and Toripani and land at Khapaudi. They have set flight hours for paragliders from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Paragliding operators and tour operators have welcomed the decision. They say that this decision will retain pilots, who were on the verge of getting displaced because of uncertainty over paragliding operations in the lake city, in the business.

Earlier, the paragliding business had become uncertain with the construction of a new international airport in Pokhara.

There are 59 paragliding companies and around 400 tandem pilots in Pokhara.
