KATHMANDU: Reigning champions Kathmandu RayZrs kicked off the second season of the Nepal Super League with a victory over Sporting Ilam de Mechi at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday.
Substitute Rajiv Lopchan scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute of the match to give Kathmandu RayZrs a winning start in the nine-team league. He capitalized on a loose ball inside the box after Sporting Ilam’s keeper Bikesh Kuthu failed to control Shokrukh’s corner.
Two matches will be played in NSL on Saturday. Pokhara Thunders will take on FC Chitwan in the first match, while Lalitpur City FC will play against FC Butwal Lumbini in the second match.
Both the matches will be played at the Dasharath Stadium.
