
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Rayzrs and Jhapa FC settled for a goalless draw in the 2025 Nepal Super League (NSL) at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Thursday.
This marks the second consecutive stalemate for both sides.
Although Kathmandu dominated proceedings, it failed to convert changes into goals. Kathmandu came closest to scoring in the fifth minute. However, Amadou Diop’s excellent effort struck the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Diop created a beautiful opportunity for Gillespye Jung Karki. But Karki’s shot sailed over the crossbar.
Jhapa struggled to create any significant moves in the first half. However, it had the opportunity to break the deadlock within a minute of the restart. Alhaji Gero’s pass found Arsic Lazar inside the box. But Kathmandu goalkeeper Abhishek Baral made a brilliant save to deny Lazar.
In the 66th minute, Karki’s cross was punched by Jhapa goalkeeper Nemanja Lemajic on the path of Diop, who failed to make contact with the ball.
Jhapa had the opportunity to take the lead and all three points in the injury time. However, substitute Aaron Thapa’s shot struck the crossbar.
Kathmandu played a 2-2 draw against Lalitpur City FC in its first match of the NSL, while Jhapa was held to a goalless draw by 10-man Butwal Lumbini FC in its first match.
